Greetings from Isle Delfino
From Masterlink

“Welcome to the sun-drenched tropical paradise of Isle Delfino! We're so pleased to welcome you to our beautiful home! Come enjoy a natural wonderland to which we've added the world's finest resort facilities, a spectacular amusement park, and succulent seafood! This and more await you on Isle Delfino! Come relax and let us refresh your body and spirit.”

Salutations Netizens of Creeper's Lab and Miranda alike,

Today I introduce you a getaway from the harsh work of mining and building, and on a vacation to enjoy the summer sun. Starting today, everyone is welcome to wander around a minecraft clone of Isle Delfino from Nintendo's Gamecube classic: Super Mario Sunshine. This map was not made by me, nor maintained by the original author, so I'm presenting it in the original final form. Credits go to the respective original map makers. The isle includes almost every aspect of Sunshine within the minecraft limitations. You can "play" each world and the respective 6 chapters, a lot of mechanics are missing, such as most NPCs and enemies. However, a lot of mechanics were craftily done to accommodate minecraft, including bringing most of the music and feel to the game. Because this is the original, unmodified final release from the map maker, you are required to use minecraft version 1.8.X, I suggest 1.8.9 with optifine and shaders for the best experience.

Since a lot of details require custom objects, it is HIGHLY recommended and almost necessary to use the resource pack, as it contains the music, sprites, etc to make the world more authentic. The download is actually fairly large, and will give you the 'incompatible' warning, but you can load it anyway and it works fine. The download size is 458MBs and can be loaded like a regular pack. Also with the minecraft limitations, there's a few bugs I've noticed especially with the music. Music per area is set by a command block right infront of you in each new area, if you step on it twice, or get overlapping music, open the menu > audio > slide volume to mute then back up. It should fix the audio. Also as you move around the isle, you'll see plates to give you a couple seconds of jump boost to get you to higher areas since you can only jump 1 block normally. Another limitation is, since everyone's on the same world, time control. Certain areas are night or day, and have a block to change it as such. This changes the entire world, so if someone enters a night area and steps on the block, you'll experience night in a normally day area! this can be a fun thing, keep in mind one of the two in Delfino Plaza sets midday as a reset.

Most areas have an exit at the appropriate shine location, if you cannot find that exit, there's also an exit at the entrance of each area where you started. Since this world is purely for fun and exploration and if you feel the need to actually 'play' mario sunshine, everyone is forced into Adventure Mode so nothing can be broken. The world is also set to peaceful, so you do not have to worry about mobs or hunger. Any other questions, feel free to ask!

MC Version: 1.8.X
Resource pack: Download Here

Remember to keep in mind this is an as-is map, in my test it's been very fun to run around and play, but it won't be a 1:1 experience with the original and a lot of things were compromised. I hope everyone takes a chance to lounge on the beach and see you there! Limited time only, I'll be running this map until the end of August.

Takao retired permanently
From Doctacosa

Last Friday, what some believed to be inevitable happened: the Pokémon Company issued a cease-and-desist request against the Pixelmon team, which promptly announced that it was disbanding. At the same time, they removed all downloads for the mod, ending all work on that Pokémon lookalike game.

Our own Pixelmon instance, Takao, was due for an update. I have the files required, but making them available to anyone else would also put us at risk to be shut down. This also makes recruiting new players on Pixelmon extremely difficult.

In light of the above, and considering that Takao hasn't had much traffic lately (or at all, as it never really took off), I've taken it offline permanently and I'll focus my efforts on other aspects of the Creeper's Lab. It was fun while it lasted!

New: in-game custom titles!
From Doctacosa

Here's another of those features that some have been requesting for a long time: the ability to set a custom title to be displayed next to your username! It's available right now for Patreon backers at the $2 tier and above! Keep on reading for more information on that.

In game, use /customtitle NEW_TITLE to set a new title. To clear it and go back to your normal rank, simply do /customtitle with nothing after. That's it!

A big upside of this new system is that the rank will be visible across all servers, so you could be working in Rodinia, talk to a new player located in Cimmeria, and they'll still see your custom title (if any) along with your actual rank. A quick mouse over the chat tag will reveal that information along with your basic location!

Note that there are a few limits to consider when picking a title:
- Custom titles are limited to ten characters
- No spaces or special characters can be used, only letters and numbers
- You can't pick a title that exists like "Admin" or "Op"

As mentioned before, this perk is restricted to Patreon backers that are at the new $2 a month pledge level and above. As a reminder, Patreon is a subscription-like service when you can contribute to my various projects with online communities for a fixed amount of your choice, every month. For more information on that, you can see my dedicated page along with the Creeper's Lab help section.

One if by Land, Two if by Sea. A call to Miranda.
From Masterlink

Dear Netizens of Miranda,

One if by land, two if by sea, but what warning from above should we see? Too long have we been slayed while on the ground... then taking refuge in the oceans until they too became unsafe, yet the skies remain empty. Today marks the day, we take the sky as our domain! From the machines of old to what future will take us further, you're called to take us there.

The time has come to have our first contest in Miranda, and what better than to have a collection of aircraft? That's right, planes, helicopters, shuttles, marvels of science! If any of you have dropped by recently, you may have noticed a large landing strip flanking the south side of Vendislorne (behind the Super C). As such, the stage is set for your creations to take flight! The contest starts today, July 1st, and will run the entire month until July 31st.

The contest area is pretty lax, looking at the map, try to keep it within the bay area around the runway. There's no defined spaces, size limitations, or height requirements unless noted in the categories. You can build either in the air, or add a "parking" spot along the side of the runway. To add a parking spot, break up to 4 lamps and replace with stone, the main build must be at least 3 blocks away from the runway, and use redstone torches as 'guide lights' along the front and corners (check the helipad near the Super C for an example). This is if you decide not to build in the air, since planes are not always flying.

Some "ground" rules for builds and categories are as follows.

West side of the runway: Build older designs over here, bi-planes, World War fighters, bombers, floatplanes, etc.

East side of the runway: Newer and current craft, jets, carriers, gliders, and stealth type aircraft.

South side of the runway: The end of the runway is designated for futuristic/space craft. This category comes with a height rule, all flying craft must be above Y150, we're going to SPAAAAAAAACE after all. The exception to the rule is marine launching builds with 'parked' craft. i.e. the SpaceX launches/landings. These cannot be attached to the runway like the east/west craft parking.

You may build in all three categories, as they will all be judged differently. You must identify your build in the sky with two marker lamps, glowstone, sea lantern, or redstone lamp the same position as the front of your craft, and the width. Basically make front corners of your build area, and place a sign on one of the markers. Parked craft only require a sign on their lot for identification.

Special category! With all the directional rules, what about above the runway? This area is for teams! What fun is air control without a little mayhem? Builds must be done by a team of two people (or more), air battles, in-flight crashes, fights over lanes on the runway, etc. As such, these will not be judged for major prizes, however they do give you participation. These builds are for pure fun, but please don't feel discouraged and not do these, we need a bit of rivalry in the skies.

Since the primary build destination is in the sky, Contractor's Evening will be ENABLED for the duration of the contest. Thus enabling use of the flight shrine near spawn. Super C will, as always, be open to paying customers. For those who do not remember, the Super C contains all regular building blocks to save on collection time for larger builds.

Well, let's get to the reason you're all interested... Awesome builds! No.. wait... prizes. Remember, each category has it's own rankings. Ages, Current, Future/Space, participation only for team builds in center.

1st: $10 game or DLC on Steam.
2nd: 10 Merit Points + Equal shares of Super C profits (Iron/Diamond collections)
3rd: 5 Merit Points + Your choice of player head.
Participation: 1 Merit Point.

All participants with a COMPLETED BUILD will also receive the Contractors rank and access to Ouroboros (Go here for more info), the creative planning superflat. Sorry, no partial/incomplete builds, judges' discretion on if whether builds are complete or not. Incomplete builds will be sunk for Squid spawning habitats.

If you are interested in being a judge, contact me on the forums or IRC, I'm bad at catching Discord PMs so don't poke that. As a reminder, Mu is still around for those who want to build, and watch things together. Mu information can be found here. I'm also using this opportunity to expand Miranda's borders a bit, enjoy more land.
